HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HOST JANESVILLE BOOK SIGNING
Janesville authors Den and Judy Adler will discuss and sign copies of their new book, Janesville, at a publication party from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, at the Helen Jeffris Wood Museum Center, 426 N. Jackson Street. The Rock County Historical Society will sell copies of the book at its gift shop. Society members and nonmembers are welcome to attend this event. No reservations are necessary.
Janesville is the latest addition to Arcadia Publishing Company’s nationwide Images of America Series. The 128-page book contains images of 228 photographs taken from the holdings of the Rock County Historical Society and the City of Janesville Engineering Department. Captions describe the history depicted in each photograph. For example, the book contains an early photograph of the 1865 Chicago & NorthWestern Roundhouse near downtown Janesville.
At 7:15 p.m. the Adlers will present a brief overview of their research into the images. After their talk, they will sign copies of their book. Their first Arcadia book, also titled Janesville, in the Postcard History Series, will also be available for sale and signing.
